Soudal takes over the silicone factory of Momentive Performance Materials in Bergen op Zoom in the Netherlands

In Dubai, the Turnhout manufacturer of adhesives, sealants and PU foam aquires the company Al Muqarram Insulation Material Industry LLC, a family business group consisting of 3 companies with 2 production sites.

In Russia the local foam producer Profflex will be taken over, in Ireland the local distributor Seal Systems will further strengthen the Soudal group.

Soudal strengthens its position in Oceania with the acquisition of local partner Holdfast NZ Ltd. and Soudal PTY Lld. In Finland Soudal takes over Joints Oy.

Soudal acquires the Slovenia based adhesive manufacturer Mitol.

In December, Sapac has been acquired, a Belgian equipment manufacturer that develops PU foam systems for the packaging and insulation market.

Soudal celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2016: Vic Swerts founded the company on the 19th of September 1966 as a one-man company.

New branches are opened in Kazakhstan, Dubai and Iran

In January, the acquisition of Proflex is compelted, the distributor in Sweden, and in March that of Larchimic, the distributor in Morocco.

Soudal strengthens its position in the glass industry by acquiring Tenachem from Latvia.

Vic Swerts, president and owner of Soudal celebrates his 75th birthday.

Together with the National Lottery from Belgium, Soudal is the new main sponsor of the World Tour cycling team Lotto Soudal.

Soudal gets full control of its joint venture in Chile. Next to Chile it also acts in Mexico, Colombia and Peru.

Soudal strengthens its position in Poland and Eastern Europe by acquiring the Polish company Zaklady Chemiczne Bochem Sp. z o.o.

The US company Accumetric, known for the brands Boss, Dynatex and CPI is acquired.  With this, Soudal wants to strengthen its position in the United States.

Soudal takes over Soudis in Australia.

Soudal takes over TKK in Slovenia. TKK is the largest independent manufacturer of PU foams, sealants and concrete additives in Southeastern Europe.

Soudal implements SAP, an ERP system that manages the primary business processes.

Soudal opens a new subsidiary in Brazil.

A new factory for silicon opens in Bawal, India. This new production unit has a capacity of 15 million cartridges per year.

The acquisition of the Turkish company Isik is a fact. It concerns the production and sales relating to sealants, adhesives and PU foams.

Soudal get elected "Belgian company of the year 2011".

The new R & D center in Turnhout, Belgium opens. This striking five-story building offers space for labatories and the IT department.

Soudal takes over Shija, the third largest manufacturer of PU foams in China. As a result, Soudal gets access to the Chinese market.

The joint venture with McCoy Silicones Ltd. is founded in India.

The Dutch competitor Frencken that specializes in adhesives, is acquired. A new market segment for industrial adhesives and wood preservation products will be added to the Soudal range.

The Belgian company Aerotrim is taken over. Aerotrim is a manufacturer of technical aerosols.

A joint-venture is founded in Chile.

Soudal develops its own SMX® technology. This allows the company to develop a range of sealants and adhesives that do not contain solvents.

The shares of Rectavit N.V., located near Gent in Belgium, are acquired.

Soudal takes over the Italian building silicone department from Wacker Germany.

Soudal opens a sales office in Shanghai. Branches are also founded in the UK, Romania, Hungary and he Baltic States.

On July 1st 1997 Soudal concludes the acquisition of the Finished Building & Construction Silicones department of BAVG, a wholly owned daughter company of Bayer AG in Leverkusen. This acquisition gives Soudal a strong foothold in the German market.

Soudal opens a sales office in Poland as the first in a row in emerging Eastern Europe.

Thanks to tremendous efforts of all staff. after the fire, Soudal is completely up and running again, The PU foam department is relocated to a 2nd production site elsewhere on the Turnhout Industrial Estate. This completely new site consists of a production hall and warehouse.

In spite of the fact that fire safety and protection have always been key issues to Soudal, a fierce blaze broke out in the polyurethane foam departments.

Soudal buys French competitor Ayrton. This provides Soudal with an important market share in France.

The production facilities are expanded to 11,000m².  The company passes the 12.5 million euro turnover threshold.

The offices also move to Turnhout. Soudal NV is founded.

The elderly gardening company becomes unsuitable for further expansion, so Soudal moves its production to a production hall of 2000m² at the Turnhout Industrial Estate.

Soudal invests in a sophisticated vacuum mixer for the production of silicone sealants. The first year production output of silicone sealants was 5,000 cartridges.

The production is relocated to the elderly gardening company in Turnhout. The offices remain in Antwerp.

Vic Swerts buys a small company based at the Ossenmarkt in Antwerp that specialises in welding materials and the production of polyester putties for the car body repair. This company was named SOUDAL, which means “Soudeert alles”, dutch for “fixes everything”.
